Hold On
Love, in its purest form,
is attempting with your whole soul and being,
to truly step into the shoes of the person before you -
To see as they see,
to feel their pain,
to relish in their pleasures.
To take them as they are,
in darkness and in light,
in their holy hours,
and in their hellish ones.
To stay, despite their flaws, imagined or real,
despite the moments when they fall short.
That you can still find that one atom onto which to cling.
The one that gave life to the love.
You hold on dearly,
because to lose it …
Would mean losing your whole universe.
