Unfair Contention
It must be difficult
A constant conflict between prevailing self and hopeful expression
A battle between your present actions and your deepest
desires
Practicing detachment and evolving into an isolation connoisseur
Caving inwards and raising barriers
Withdrawing into the confines of your own consciousness
Further segregated by bricks and wooden walls
Even though your soul yearns for more
Your eyes fixated on the door, attempting to drum up the courage
to escape
Craving touch, longing for connection
Missing the midnight drives with fingers interlocked
Where a warm smile steals the moment, but a passionate kiss
seals the day
But into the memory bank it currently goes
Eventually to be replaced
Unless self and expression can freely combine
Unless actions and desires coalesce and harmonize
Unless, that is, you give you a chance.
